There is no such thing as a remote key module. The locking/unlocking feature from the remote is controlled by several things. You've posted in the E60 section, so I'm guessing that's what you have. Some of the components of the system would be the antenna, the CAS module, and probably the body module as well.
The E61 with airsapring i quite good. But problems that I've seen is: - Broken cables leading to the sensor,- replace the last 30 cm with new BMW socket/wire/rubber seal - The Level sensor itself. Try to un-mount an wire it up to 5V supply an measure output. The sensor should read about 2,5 V with the sensor arm pointing to the plug.
Most likely it is your actuator motor. Need to plug it into bmw coder and see if the motor responds to the calibration procedure. If it doesn't then the motor is bad. If it does and will not calibrate then the transfer case is bad. My issue was precisely the steering angle sensor.
. This article only deals with cleaning the analog style sensor found in BMW E60/E61/E63/E64 5 and 6 series vehicles. This OBD2 port allows you to connect an OBD2 scanner to your car in order to access hidden features and information! However, the location of this port depends on the car model. Therefore, finding this port can be a bit difficult sometimes! The location of the OBD2 port in a BMW 5 E60/E61 should be within the reach of the driver.
Where can I find the colour code of my bmw e61 530d? I cant seem to see any stickers. Also is it an Alphanumeric code? Thanks
Also my car already came with the alarm so can't help much there. I don't thin you need to code it, from what I gather our cars came prewired for the alarm and depending on the buyer they would ask for the alarm brain to be installed, aka keyless entry. The only think I played with the alarm was to sync the module and the remote.
Also, the production year/month can also be determined from the last 7 characters of your VIN. See screenshot attached. Just go to realoem.com and enter the last 7 chars of your vin and it will give you a lot of info specific to your vehicle including the manufacturing production code and batch id as well.
